We continue working with the past simple of the verb to be. We start the session asking personal questions about famous people using was/were.

Who was s/he?

When was s/he born?

Where was s/he born?

What was his/her job?

Then we corrected some exercises from the cousebook, p.67, ex.5. The students listen and check if their answer are right (T.9.10) and finally we do the check it exercise to close this grammar point.

Then, we study in one of the photocopies (be-past), some expressions in the past time, like last night, yesterday, a week ago.

Finally, we review the months of the year and the students learn how to say dates.
We write: 10April;April 10;10/4/09 but we say: the tenth of April.
