12th March
Yesterday, we continued working with the past simple. We corrected some pending exercises from the photocopies and we did an activity in which the students had to review the past simple of the irregular verbs and some common expressions which go with these verbs.
Then, we started the new lesson, unit 10. During this lesson, the students will study the past simple of the regular verbs.
First, we listened to Angie talking about her weekend. The students had to tick the actions she mentioned and then, report the information to their classmates.(T.10.1)
We learnt that the past regular tense is formed adding "-ed" at the end of the infinitive form. What is peculiar about these verbs is their pronunciation.
We can pronounce the past tense in 3 different forms /t/,/d/ or /Id/. Everything depends on the pronunciation of the final letter in the infinitive form.
watched= /t/
listened=/d/
needed= /Id/
want=/Id/
